Pennsylvania has passed a law that increases penalties for repeat DUI offenders. Previously, all DUI offenses were misdemeanors with lighter penalties. Now repeat DUI offenders face felony charges with harsher penalties.

In addition, penalties increased for homicide by vehicle while DUI. The number of years one faces in prison has increased.

The law went into effect on Sunday, December 23, 2018. It was reported that one million Pennsylvania drivers with DUI convictions will be subject to these higher penalties.

With the increase in penalties, it is even more important to defend yourself if you have been charged with a DUI.
