New Jersey Is Getting Serious About Drug Impaired Drivers – NJ’s New Campaign: “If You Feel Different, You Drive Different. If You Drive High, You Get a DUI.”

Due to the possible legalization of marijuana in New Jersey, there is a growing concern about the increase in driving while impaired by drugs.  As a result, New Jersey ran a new campaign message focused on drug impaired driving entitled: “If You Feel Different, You Drive Different. If You Drive High, You Get a DUI.”

It has been reported that 42% of drivers killed in car crashes tested positive for drugs in their system like marijuana, opioids, meth or prescription drugs. When it comes to DUI, it does not matter whether the drug is legal or illegal. It is against the law to drive while impaired by any drug.

The New Jersey DUI campaign provides funding for more police officers on the highway to enforce the DUI laws.
