The following tool can help you tell if someone might be having a stroke. B.E.F.A.S.T.
So, B.E.F.A.S.T stands for Balance, Eyes, Face, Arms, Speech, and Time.
Starting with ‘B’ for Balance – this is when someone suddenly feels super wobbly or cannot keep their balance. That’s a sign to watch out for.
Then there is ‘E’ for Eyes. Think about vision getting all blurry or someone seeing double. These changes in sight? Definitely a red flag.
Moving on to ‘F’, which is about the Face. Ever see someone try to smile and one side of their face just does not cooperate? It kind of droops down? That’s a classic stroke sign.
Next up, ‘A’ for Arms. Try lifting both arms and one just does not stay up or feels really weak. That’s another clue something might be off.
Then there is ‘S’ for Speech. This one is about talking. If someone’s speech is slurred or they cannot seem to get their words out properly, take note.
And finally, ‘T’ for Time. This is super important. If you see any of these signs, time is of the essence.
Don’t wait around, call for help immediately.
Remember, strokes can be really sneaky, and these signs might not all show up at once. But keeping B.E.F.A.S.T in mind helps you stay on top of things.
Spotting even one of these signs early can make a huge difference. So, there you have it, B.E.F.A.S.T – your go-to guide for stroke signs.
