Arrested? What Do You Need to Disclose on Employment Applications? - Washington & Washington | ATTORNEYS AT LAW

Employment applications often ask whether you have been arrested or convicted of a crime. If you have been arrested or convicted of a crime such as driving under the influence (DUI), you should answer those questions honestly.

Pennsylvania requires that you disclose any arrests and convictions to the employer. However, if your arrest or conviction has been expunged, you do not have to disclose the expunged arrest and conviction. Expungement removes the arrest and/or conviction from your criminal record.

If it is your first DUI, you may be eligible for expungement. However, you must disclose your arrest until it has been officially expunged.

If you or a family member has been arrested or charged with DUI, driving under the influence of alcohol or DWI, driving while intoxicated, contact the attorneys at Washington & Washington to schedule a free consultation to confidentially discuss your charges. We can determine if you can ultimately apply for an expungement. Call and speak with an attorney 24 hours a day by dialing the toll free telephone number (800) 988-0158.
