On March 1, 2019, a bus driver for the Northampton Area School District was charged with driving under the influence, child endangerment and careless and reckless driving. She was transporting 26 students when they noticed that she was not following the normal bus route, missing stops and driving on the wrong side of the road.

The bus driver eventually stopped at a gas station, gave the bus keys to a gas station employee and left the scene. Police arrested the bus driver at her home later that day.
Drivers of a commercial or school vehicle faces stricter DUI laws. In addition, similar to the Northampton Area School District bus driver, you may face other charges such as child endangerment if there are any minors in the vehicle.
When you are arrested for DUI you risk losing your driver’s license, which may affect your ability to earn an income, going to jail and having to pay fines.
