Some of the common criminal charges people face are:

  • Underage Drinking or DUI – An underage drinking charge or DUI arrest may have a huge negative impact on you or your child’s future.  There is zero tolerance for underage drinking and driving in Pennsylvania. The slightest trace of alcohol consumption or possession will likely result in an arrest for DUI. On top of the penalties of DUI, underage drivers may face significant fines and mandatory driver’s license suspension. In addition, it may affect college admission and future employment.
  • Traffic Violations – These charges include running a stop sign or red light, passing a school bus with flashing lights, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless driving, speeding, driving the wrong way, or improper passing. On top of the fines, the Department of Transportation may add points to your driving record. Each violation has a certain number of points. The more serious the traffic violation, the more points it will have. The more points you have on your driving record the more severe consequences you will face including having your driver’s license suspended.

  • Shoplifting – Taking merchandise without paying for it; altering, removing or changing price tags or labels; transferring merchandise into another container; or tampering with security devices are considered shoplifting. You may face jail time and large fines. Such conviction will be on your record and as a result may impact your employment, college admission and ability to rent apartments.
